This backyard (basically just a lawn) was functional, but uninteresting, where your attention was drawn to all the surrounding houses beyond the vertical lines of the fence.	This is an example of what homeowners can install THEMSELVES with a comprehensive, step-by-step landscape design program. Didn’t they do a good job?


This is a beautiful house that had no landscape to compliment it.	We added beautiful curved walkways with flagstone inlays, a rain garden to take advantage of surface runoff, and beautifully colorful palette of plants with a northwest-lodge theme.


These clients asked us to give this tiny space, along a walking trail, purpose and pizzazz.	The theme was modern-asian-zen with a dash of sophisticated fun.


These homeowners failed to see anything “cool” about their house. I told them “all it needs is a ‘cool’ landscape”.	I think we passed “cool” and went straight to “gorgeous”!


Ths backyard, an overgrown steep bank, was difficult to access and maintain.	We stabilized the hillside with rockery retaining walls and appropriate plantings, added abundant and beautiful garden space, and an earth-friendly meadow (shown in foreground).


This yard had one interesting feature …a nice bridge (with nothing leading to or from it).	We added a rain garden, meandering paths, raised rockery veggie gardens, and oh yes… we painted the bridge RED.


This is a classic mid-entry home…the ambience of which will be completely determined by its landscape.	Massive concrete squares safely graduate the person visiting this stylish entry garden.


What can we say…this backyard needed a landscape!	Ta da!… from “nothing” to a beautiful, useable, earth-friendly living space!


This side yard was never a “destination” before.	Curvy meets squares beautifully…how fun!


The landscape of this ranch-style home was outdated and difficult to maintain.	A new diagonal paver walkway and curvelinear lawn edge now grace the updated look of this new beautiful landscape.


This area did not present itself as an “entry way” to an otherwise lovely home.	Arc’d old-world raised planters and circular paver patio create a truly welcoming feeling.


This is an upscale house, with an under-scale landscape.	We added a small courtyard, a perimeter of plants that will add visual separation from the street, and friendly modular pathways inviting the coming and going of neighbors.
